The 2711P-K4C20A from Allen Bradley is a control system that combines a powerful display in the same unit with an operator input and logic module, and power and memory features. This unit, which belongs to PanelView Plus series, comes with color/grayscale displays that produce images in 18-bit color and 32-levels of gray. This module’s key features include a flexible keypad, a touchscreen, single die-cut interchangeable labels for system/terminal identification, unique mounting mechanisms, EtherNet communication capabilities, and a function legend kit in addition to software for customization of the function key legends. There are two base communication units available, which are an RS-232 serial port that lacks a network interface for an add-on communication modules and an RS-232 serial port that has Ethernet and a network interface for an optional communication module. This module’s RS-232 port supports DH-485 serial, multi-vendor drivers, and DF1 serial. The Ethernet port, alternatively, supports EtherNet/IP and Ethernet options using the KEPServer drivers. For base units featuring a network, an optional DH+/DH-485 communication unit or ControlNet can be added. The 2711P-K4C20A comes with a touchscreen control system on which operators can interact using the keypad input. Other amazing features of this module include a FactoryTalk View software, which provides an ideal environment for developing and creating HMI applications and windows (i.e. CE) operating systems featuring desktop access, which helps configure third-party applications. This unit also comes with PanelView plus terminals that act as operator interface devices. These terminals monitor and control devices that are attached to the controlLogix and compactlogix controllers. This module’s animated graphics, together with excellent text displays, provide users with a clear view of the machine’s operating state or process.

Featuring Ethernet communication that supports star, linear and Device Level Ring (DLR) network topologies, remote desktop connection, conformally coated terminals, web browser, PDF viewer, Microsoft file viewers, DC power, and a text editor, the 2711P-K4C20A can be the perfect solution for all your industrial automation needs. When installing the 2711P-K4C20A, make sure to observe all the NFPA guidelines. Employ only professional electricians to perform the device’s wiring while conforming to local, state, and national codes. Ensure that the device and other related electronic equipment is connected to its own turn-off circuit. Safeguard the input power with a fuse/circuit breaker with a rating not exceeding 15A. Connect input power to the gadget through a separate path other than the communication lines. If power and communication lines must meet, then cross them at right angles. Note that it’s possible to mount communication lines on the same channel with low-level DCI/O lines (below 10 Volts). Protect and ground cables properly to prevent the occurrence of electromagnetic interference (EMI). Additionally, grounding reduces noise associated with EMI and acts as a safety measures far as electrical installations are concerned. The panel view features a 3.5-inch display unit plus a full color. This model also expressly communicates via Ethernet & RS-232 ports. It runs on a 3.20 to 5.10 firmware version. The part also comes with a 64 Megabyte memory, making it ideal for storing large amounts of industrial data.
