The 2711P-RP8D logic module by is a module in the PanelView Plus 6 series. It supports the PanelView terminals without extended features. It is a 24 Volt DC input module with 512 MB of storage memory for data and application storage. It also has a volatile memory of 512 MB for processing applications. The module can be programmed by a computer using the RS-232 serial communication port. Other devices can also be linked to the 2711P-RP8D logic module via the same port. The module also uses the Ethernet protocol for enhanced network capability, and like other PanelView Plus 6 terminals, the 2711P-RP8D uses a standard Ethernet cable for applications, and data transfers between a computer and the PanelView Plus 6 (700 to 1500) terminal.

The 2711P-RP8D uses the Windows CE 6.0 operating system without extended features and file viewers, and it comes with a Factory Talk View machine edition station that requires no product keys. The 2711P-RP8D is powered by an external 24VDC supply voltage with a power dissipation of 70 Watts. It is installed at the back of the display module and connects the latter via the embedded PCI slot.

The 2711P-RP8D’s available communication interfaces are One Ethernet Communication port that is used to integrate data of controllers within the Ethernet network, One 9-Pin Sub-D Serial port for Point-to-Point connection and peripheral connection via the embedded Two USB interfaces. may also be established through the Serial port using a 9-Pin D Sub connector. The USB ports are specifically designed for insertion of external peripherals such as keyboard, mouse, printers and external storage mediums.
