The 1746-NO4I I/O module is a member of the SLC 500 device series that is manufactured by /Rockwell Automation. It is an output module with 4 output channels. It is also analog. All of the outputs on the 1746-NO4I output module are current outputs that are designed to handle all kinds of machine monitoring and control applications. Its maximum backplane current draw ratings are 55 milliamps at 5 Volts and 195 milliamps at 24 Volts. The 1746-NO4I output module cannot be configured with DIP switches because it does not have analog inputs. The only switch that it supports is a 24 Volts DC power selector switch. When the 1746-NO4I output module is installed in the SLC chassis, it should be installed as far away as possible from modules with AC voltage or high levels of DC voltage, as far as possible from the power supply in a modular system, and in the chassis that is closest to the bottom of the SLC enclosure.

The /Rockwell Automation 1746-NO4I SLC 500 4-channel analog output module can support operating current ranges of 0 to 21 milliamps, 0 to 20 milliamps, or from 4 to 20 milliamps for different applications. The 1746-NO4I analog output module can be used in an SLC 500 system that contains input devices that use loop power, but it cannot supply the loop power to these input devices because it is analog. Instead, the users must supply the loop power to the input devices by other means. The 1746-NO4I analog output module can be powered by the host SLC 500 controller device’s 24 Volts DC rated power source as long as it is a fixed SLC 500 device.
